PISTOIA, the lower of the "pearls" of the Tuscan cities was crowned Capital of Culture 2017. The small Cinderella immersed in the green heart of the Grand Duchy has managed to unseat rivals far more noble.
In the dossier submitted to the ministry, Pistoia has focused heavily on his Biblioteca San Giorgio, one of the largest and equipped of Tuscany, and on the small but rich museum circuit. Among the reasons for the award of recognition and funds, also a program of events "able to stand on their own feet" from a financial point of view.
A great opportunity for a small medieval jewel like Pistoia: it was the capital of Italian Culture for 2017.
